This painting is of the famous Eilean Donan Castle which is in the north west of Scotland. It is situated right next a loch and its setting makes it a very magical and iconic place. Many tourists come to see it each year and it has been photographed many times. I personally was not interested in the castle itself but more about how it featues in the very spacious and dramatic landscape. In this work, I have tried to capture how atmospheric the place is with wild brushmarks and driblng paint.
